11) A Way To Remember

"Take care of all your memories. For you cannot relive them" - Bob Dylan. Mr. Dylan is right unless you have some sort of machine that lets you relive your memory like Inception. It is hard to appreciate each moment for what it is worth. It is even harder to try to remember what you did last week. I found a way to remember and appreciate each moment better . . . (Read the bottom)

Today I came across something cool called a memory jar. For those of you who have never heard of a memory jar, it is a great way to store your most cherish moments that were special to you. All you need is a medium sized glass bottle, a black pen or marker, and construction papers. Each day you would write one sentence or two and put it inside the jar. It could be about anything. It could be about something good that happened that day, something you thought about, your dreams or goals, or anything that is on your mind. The only rule is you have to write something everyday. I suggest that you should start a memory jar on as soon as possible. Before the year is over, open the bottle and read all things that happened that year. I'm going to try to make a memory jar this year and stick with it. Good luck!

10) Don't Worry They Said, Senior Year Will Be Easy They Said

Who is ready for Christmas Break? I know I am. I'm sick of senior year already. The teachers are giving way too much work before vacation. Don't they have a life? Or are they trying to make us have no life? Instead they should be rewarding us and themselves by giving the students no homework, tests, or quizzes. It would be the best Christmas present they could give us.

A weekend wasted on studying :(
This is what I have to say
about senior year.

This week is going to be crazy for me. I have one chemistry final, one calculus final, and a test for English. Do they really expect me to study for all of that? I don't know if it is my senioritis talking but I say screw that. Don't you guys feel the same? Not just the seniors but also the juniors and sophomores.

9) White Blanket Of Snow

Don't you get excited when you look out the window and see white, shiny flakes covering the ground and transformed the landscape making it a magical place full of wonder and undiscovered mysteries? Maybe I am exaggerating about the "magical land" or "mysteries" part but this is how I feel when it is snowing outside.

As a senior, I am hoping that it will snow as much as possible. If a freak snow storm comes and drops three feet of snow, it wouldn't hurt anyone.
I remembered last year when we had three feet of snow. I couldn't even see my dad's car at all. It was covered by massive amount of snow. The snow went up to knee. It was a struggle trying to shovel all the snow. By the end of the day, I had fun throwing snowballs, making snowangels, and pushing my sister into the snow. Just kidding about the last part... or am I?

If Santa really does exist, I just want a week of snowdays for Christmas. I am not asking for much.

8) The Danger Of Black Friday

Mob of people
Stacks of iPad mini
After being pushed and trampled on Black Friday last year, I came back once again to test its mighty sales. I had a game plan this year. It was a divide and conquer strategy like always but this time I'm going with my cousin just to safe. It is a very dangerous time of year if you don't have a buddy. This year I'm waiting on an iPad mini while my cousins are in line for a TV and a laptop.

I still remembered last year when my cousin and I got pushed once they rang that the sales have begun. We were pushed left and right. The boxes that held the games were demolished. Black Friday's keep getting crazier and crazier each year. My worst fear on Black Friday is some old grandma hitting me with her cane so she can get her grandson an Xbox one.

7) Derp faces

Have you ever heard of trolling or seen a derp face? A derp is a simple, undefined reply when an ignorant comment or action is made. It is brought to life in the South Park series, when Mr. Derp made a guest appearance and performed a derp face. It suddenly got popular and spread viral on the internet. Here are some of the derp faces that I like the most. I decided to create them on my busy weekend because I was bored. On your left is a picture of a classical, constipated derp face. On your right is a dumbfounded derp face. To create your own, all you need is a paper and a marker. Have fun trolling people!

6) Flying Isn't Just For The Birds Anymore

"Ready...OK!" One by one, they began to do acrobatic jumps with twists and turns that could give you anyone a headache. In unison, they cheered with catchy chants. The crowd cheered loud for them. The cheerleaders brought the crowd to their feet as they were ready to do their final routine. A jolt of energy rushed through my body and hit my heart when a girl got tossed ten feet into the air. My first thought was, "wow look at her fly." It was something that you don't get to see everyday.

Some of the cheerleaders
Full House
There were more than 50 cheerleader teams along with coaches, referees, and parents at Lowell High School's gymnasium this weekend. It held roughly about 2000 people that day. Guess who has two thumbs and gets to stamp all the cheerleaders first? THIS GUY! (not including Leonard and Sara)

Overall, it was pretty fun to meet all these new people and watch what they love to do; cheer. It was even funnier when one team was talking crap about another team or a cheerleader talking bad about her own teammate. I thought it was about to go down.

5) Super Seyian

A Sey
It's a bird. It's a plane. It's a . . . sey? What is a "sey" you ask? Sey is an asian version of a hacky-sack. It is made out of feathers and hard plastics. It comes with different colors, materials, and sizes. The rings on the bottom make it easier to bounce and keep up in the air. It is very light so it tends to bounce everywhere.

Many people were shocked and astonished by the sight of the sey. They have never seen one before. Before I know it, they asked if they could play and I gladly agreed. Some people thought it was easy to just kick it. Once they stepped in, it wasn't easy as they thought it would be. They would either missed it completely or kicked outside the circle.

My cousin introduced sey to me when I was in 5th grade but I didn't start playing it until I was in 6th grade. I have been playing sey for about seven years. I tried to play everyday before and after school, recesses, and lunch breaks. It is a great way to meet new people and a fun activity to do when you have some free time.

4) Youth Advocate

Lowell Community Health Center hosted Dance 4 Peace since 1995. The goal is to plan, teach, and spread awareness. Every year we discuss about important topics and pick one that is major issue to the community. This year we decided the theme would be dating violence. The youth thought it was a concerning issue and needed to be brought up. Over 1500 people attended the event including youth and adults.

This summer I was part of that big event. I always wanted to work behind the scene and see what exciting things will happen. Instead I had to run errands, check people's microphones, work the curtains, and set the scenes up. It wasn't that great but I still had fun doing it. Overall it was an awesome experience.

3) A Trip To H-Mart

For those of you who haven't went to H-Mart, you are not missing out. H-Mart located on route 3 south near the Burlington Mall is a great store. It has variety of food from mochi ice creams to rice cakes. To the right, it has food stands and dessert shop. To the left, it has giant fruits and mouth-watering Korean's snacks. I recommend trying out kimchi if it is your first time going there. Kimchi  is a traditional fermented Korean side dish made of vegetables with a variety of seasonings. It is often described as spicy or sour. There are no other stores like this.

Some Snacks That I Got YUMMM :D
On this rainy day, my cousin and I decided to go to H-mart. When I arrived there, the first I ordered was kimchi. It took about 20 minutes before it was done. While I was waiting for my order, I went around the store and bought some snacks.I can never get sick and tired of H-Mart. It is one of those things I look forward to every month. The snacks are good and the fresh made food is even better. I mean who doesn't like food, right?

2) Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub

You know what the scariest feeling is ? It is hopelessness. It is when you know someone close and dear to you is hurt and there is nothing you can do about it. On Saturday, September 28 2013 10:13 PM, I received a terrifying phone call from my dad. All I heard was "grandpa" "ambulance" and "breathing." I was shocked from what I heard. Thoughts were flying through my head like is he okay or what happened. I didn't know what to think. I was at my friend's house when all of this happened. I didn't know what to do but I had to rush home.

Once I got home, I saw bright red and blue lights flashing back and forth. I felt lightheaded as I continued to stare at it. An Ambulance,a firetruck, and my uncles' and aunts' cars were all parked outside. I watched my grandpa get carried on the stretcher to the ambulance. My heart started racing. What was going on? No one was talking. The people quickly took him away and drove off.

My grandma had a sour look on her face and so did my aunts. They told me that he was having a hard time breathing but no one knew why. This will be his third time going to the hospital this year and it gets harder every time. I just hope he is okay right now. I'm going to visit him on Sunday with my grandma and my dad.

1) My Favorite Thing In The World

Volleyball is my favorite sport to play with my friends and family. I started playing volleyball at the age of twelve in seventh grade. I didn't like it very much because my wrists would hurt from the hit. The sting of the impact hurt like someone pounding a hammer on your arms. Sometimes, I even got hit in the face by a spike. I got a few bloody noses or two. As time went on, I grew to love it. I loved the way the ball hit my wrist and bounced off. I loved the way the ball spun and flicked off my palm when I served. Directing the ball right to the corner or between two people to confuse them is an incredible feeling.

It is an even better feeling when you have teammates that you can trust and battle along side with them. In eighth grade, it was where I found a couple of people that love playing volleyball as much as I do. I shared a special bond with them. They became one of my closest friends. One of them is Leonard Te. We have a mutual understanding in volleyball where we don't need to talk to each other to know which one of us will receive it. Leonard and I play back row in volleyball and our job is to receive the ball and bump it to the setter. We play and know each other so well, we don't need to call for the ball. It is almost like we have telepathy. My other close friend is Justin Sak. I have only met him for a couple of year but through volleyball we got pretty close. We even won eighth grade volleyball championship together and that's not what most people could say with their friends. We all share a love for volleyball.

My Beaten Up Volleyball
This ball to the left is over three years old. It has scratches and tears. It is really beaten up but you could still play with it. I want to buy another one but it is way too expensive. Also, this ball hold sentimental values to me. It has memories of my friends and the time we shared together. In the picture, I tried to hold the ball up high so it blocks the sun. Not because it is shining in my eyes but volleyball is the only thing that makes me feel alive. Just like the sun is giving life to the plants and trees, volleyball is the doing same to me.
